英語日記は5週目になりました。

October 31st, 2023 Halloween

Happy Halloween! Trick or treat.
ハッピーハロウィーン！お菓子くれないとイタズラしちゃうぞ

I got some sweets at the cash register.
レジでお菓子をもらいました。

I saw someone wearing a costume.
仮装している人を見ました。

Today is Dogs’ day.
今日は犬の日です。

Because “wan wan wan” is the sound a dog makes.
犬は「ワン(1)ワン(1)ワン(1)」と吠えるからです。

By the way, today is also kitty’s birthday.
ところで、今日はキティちゃんの誕生日でもあります。

It’s unseasonably hot for this time of year.
今ごろとは思えない季節外れの暑さです。

I felt relieved from the heat by looking at the fountain.
噴水を見て、暑さがやわらぎました。

Surprisingly, I saw a man walking a chicken.
驚いたことに、にわとりを散歩させている人を見ました。

this time of year…1年の今ごろ
（this time of tomorrow…明日の今ごろ）

We went to the open-air market.
青空市場に行きました。

There were many shops under a cloudless blue sky.
雲ひとつない青空の下、たくさんのお店がありました。

I was happy to be able to buy a cute pass holder for my daughter.
娘のかわいい定期入れを買えてうれしかったです。
